Women’s equality and empowerment are promoted by Zenith Bank Ghana’s motivational “Woman 2 Woman” webinar.

In an effort to support women in achieving more equality, Zenith Bank Ghana celebrated International Women’s Day on Friday, March 7, 2025, by hosting a webinar for employees and clients called “Woman ‘2’ Woman.”

“Accelerating Action: Addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional speres” was the focus of the event, which was powered by the Bank’s Z-woman lifestyle program. Mrs. Comfort Owusu, the event’s guest speaker and former executive director of the Association of Rural Banks, offered insightful advice on addressing gender disparity, promoting women’s empowerment, and developing acceleration methods.

Mrs. Owusu fervently underlined the value of perseverance, encouraging women to remain firm and resolute to overcome all odds in the face of hardship, while sharing her life narrative, which includes her successful career as a banker, mother, women’s advocate, and breast cancer survivor. She told the audience, “As women, climbing that professional ladder is never a walk in the park, but you have to set your mind to be resilient and never give up,” imparting courage and resolve.

Mrs. Owusu stressed the value of striking a balance between one’s health, family, and profession, and she urged women to put their health first, use their time wisely, and know when to ask for help.

“As a woman, you should prioritize your health, plan your time, and manage it effectively. You don’t have to bear anything by yourself. Asking for assistance when necessary is a source of strength rather than weakness. “Remember, helping one another is essential to encouraging one another,” she said.

All of the attendees found resonance in her narrative, which served as a potent reminder of the value of perseverance, career advancement, good health, and effective time management in the pursuit of both professional and personal development.

In order to address gender imbalance, Mrs. Owusu encouraged women to actively look for mentorship, create robust networks, and pursue lifelong learning to improve their abilities and advance their careers.

She emphasized how crucial it is for women to confront prejudices by assuming leadership positions and fighting for equal opportunities at all levels. She also mentioned that by encouraging one another and fostering inclusive workplaces, women may open doors for more women to succeed in a variety of fields.

The guest speaker also exhorted women to approach every activity with the mindset that they should maximize its potential.

Zenith Bank (Ghana) Ltd.’s managing director and CEO, Mr. Henry Onwuzurigbo, urged women to aim for success in all facets of their lives. He counseled ladies to have the guts to set objectives and then concentrate on reaching them, making every effort to win.

He advised women to help and encourage one another in order to create a space where women may work together and empower one another, enabling them to overcome obstacles, break down boundaries, and accomplish their goals as a group.

“I advise everyone to put what they have learnt today into practice. “Let’s create opportunities that will challenge prejudices, promote equity for women worldwide, and accelerate progress,” he said.

The MD/CEO reiterated the Bank’s dedication to creating an inclusive workplace where women can flourish, lead, and achieve without hindrance.

The “Woman ‘2’ Woman” webinar is a component of Zenith Bank’s larger initiative to empower women through its Z-Woman lifestyle service, which provides Z-Woman clients with partnerships and trainings, webinar opportunities, and credit facilities to support women-led and women-owned businesses.

Furthermore, the Bank’s collaboration with the African Guarantee Fund expands MSMEs’ access to capital in Ghana, emphasizing women-owned and women-led enterprises in particular to empower them and provide the financial stability they need to prosper.
