Marc-André ter Stegen, the goalkeeper and captain of Barcelona, has vehemently denounced media accusations that his wife, Daniela ter Stegen (née Jehle), had cheated on him, calling them blatant lies and a breach of his rights.
After seven years of marriage, the German goalie recently announced his split from Daniela. He had asked for privacy for his family, especially for their kids, Ben and Tom. The pair has, nevertheless, continued to be the subject of significant media attention; according to allegations from the celebrity gossip show “Que no surti d’aquí,” Daniela had an affair with her personal trainer.
Ter Stegen strongly denied the accusations on Twitter/X on Monday, denouncing Catalunya Radio and 3Cat for disseminating what he called “false news.” Additionally, he called out the show’s hosts, Marta Montaner, Roger Carandell, and Juliana Canet, as “liars.”
In his statement, he bemoaned the media’s “poor management and lack of leadership and control,” emphasizing that his divorce was not the result of any outside interference and that his wife’s reputation had been irreparably harmed by the accusations.
“There is no evidence of Daniela’s cheating. There was no involvement from a third party. “Fact,” he wrote. “It is completely unacceptable that the leading government-owned media is spreading this, where Daniela is falsely accused and personally attacked.”
