Faith Ladies go to the Women’s FA Cup final after stunning Hasaacas.

After defeating the formidable Hasaacas Ladies in their semi-final match on Sunday, Faith Ladies advanced to the 2025 Women’s FA Cup final.

Given their dominant league lead and their status as 2021 champions, Hasaacas Ladies were the favorites to progress even though both clubs are Women’s Premier League (WPL) teams.

The FA Cup, on the other hand, is renowned for its unpredictable nature. Dorcas Okyere’s goal in the 69th minute gave Faith Ladies the win.

Both teams had relatively fresh rosters; Faith Ladies had lost more than ten players to overseas clubs, while Hasaacas had lost its seasoned pair of players, Mukarama Abdulai and Milot Pokuaa, to injury. Hasaacas were still anticipated to win by using their expertise and relative steadiness. But Raymond Fenny, the coach of the Faith Ladies, had a strategy that made the game a fierce struggle from start to finish.

Amoako had a chance to score the game’s lone goal when seasoned goalie Grace Banwa made a mistake and was caught off her line.

The Hasaacas Ladies’ chance to win just their second FA Cup title was lost. But for Faith Ladies, it’s a historic first-ever final participation and an opportunity to carry on the Women’s FA Cup history, which has seen a new winner every season.

In the grand finals, they will take against Jonina Ladies, who are also first-time finalists. With a commanding 4-1 victory against Rootz Sistaz of Somanya, the only Division One team to advance to the semi-finals, Jonina guaranteed their place.
