Engage in proactive conflict resolution – Nkwanta Traditional Authorities Are Appealed to by South MCE

Joseph Kwame Antwi, the Nkwanta South Municipal Chief Executive, has urged traditional leaders to take a more active part in putting an end to the fighting in Nkwanta, Oti Region.

“We must establish a responsible society in which each of us accepts accountability for our own deeds as well as for the conduct of our society and our children,” he stated.
Speaking on his first day of work last Thursday, Mr. Kwame Antwi stated that ending the dispute, repairing the negative perception, and establishing enduring peace were his top priorities.

“We must demonstrate that it was simple for members of every ethnic group to coexist peacefully in order to fulfill their shared goals,” he stated.

He said that doing so would allow him to bring about order and implement his planned policies and programs.

All-encompassing

In order to restore peace, Mr. Antwi has made the decision to hold an open and sincere discussion with the young, traditional leaders, queen moms, opinion leaders, and clergy on how they might work with the police.

He also pleaded with everyone, particularly queen mothers and traditional rulers, to help change certain old conventions and practices that were impeding the growth of women and children in the region.

For the Adele, Akyode, and Challa ethnic groups in particular, agriculture was essential to the socioeconomic growth of the region.

Following the conflict’s intensification three years ago, which resulted in the destruction of millions of cedis worth of property and deaths, the government currently enforces a dawn-to-dusk curfew on the region.

Travel

The region has a remarkable array of natural and cultural tourist attractions, according to the MCE.

He mentioned Kyabobo National Park, which has amazing mountain scenery and traditional food that is appropriate for all types of people at all times.

He promised to collaborate with assembly members to make sure all of their initiatives were successfully carried out for the good of the populace.
