Achimota Golf Club will host the first PGA Captain’s Prize competition.

The Achimota Golf Club will host the third edition of the prestigious PGA Captain’s Prize Tournament, which will feature 50 professional golfers from various clubs in Ghana.

The tournament, which recognizes the PGA Captain for his achievements to the sport, will be held at the Achimota Golf Club for the first time on March 12-14, 2025.

Speaking to the media at the Achimota Golf Club, current PGA Captain John Mawuli Nyarko informed them that all required preparations had been done for a successful three-day competition.

He stated that, in addition to professional golfers, amateur players from various clubs will compete on the final day of the competition, ensuring a highly competitive event, particularly among the country’s top professionals.

The Achimota Golf Club’s leadership expressed their dedication to professional golfers, recognizing their important role in the sport’s development.

In an interview, the club’s captain, Emmanuel Quarcoo, and Jan Vogel, the club’s manager, emphasized the importance of professional golfers staying focused and disciplined during the competition. They also stated that the club would continue to invest in professional golf, acknowledging its importance in molding the sport’s future in Ghana.

As the first PGA event of the year, the organizers have received support from Frencia, Mainland Hotel, MDV, Tang Palace Hotel, and Miccaso, among others. With tremendous support and high expectations, the competition is expected to be an exciting and competitive duel.
