Peace and Love Hospital is facing legal action from a Ghanaian lady named Gifty Amoakowaa, who claims that the hospital violated her constitutional rights by installing surveillance cameras in rooms used for private medical evaluations, such as breast exams.
According to the lawsuit, which was submitted to the High Court, the installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) equipment in such delicate areas is a flagrant violation of her right to privacy, dignity, and the secrecy that is anticipated during medical encounters.
She is requesting that her basic human rights under Ghana’s 1992 Constitution be upheld.
Amoakowaa’s claim is based on important constitutional clauses that safeguard an individual’s privacy and dignity, particularly Articles 15 and 18(2).

The complainant claims that in addition to being against the law, the hospital’s placement of monitoring equipment in private exam rooms has seriously upset her.

Amoakowaa’s remedy requests seek the court to:

- Compel the destruction of any footage in which she appears and prohibit any further retention or use of such material;
