38 level 100 students were expelled from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) for not meeting academic requirements.
On March 7, 2025, a statement announcing the decision was released.
Following an evaluation of the students’ academic performance throughout their first and second semesters, the institution took this step.
CGPA
The students either failed more courses than permitted after retakes or failed more than the minimal Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 1.0, according to the university’s statement.
Dr. Mohammed Adam, the acting head of the department of social studies education, signed the letter outlining the expulsion.
According to the statement, the impacted students were not permitted to take part in Level 200 course exams or attend Level 200 seminars.
The institution emphasized that the students received counseling before being dismissed.
Regulations stated in the Revised Undergraduate Students’ Handbook are in compliance with the ruling.
Six of the 38 expelled students failed more than three courses, while 32 did not achieve the CGPA standard.
The university gave the appropriate departments instructions to correct its data.
