Two people died on Saturday, and two others sustained injuries following an accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway at Asuboi on Saturday, July 18, 2026. The accident involved a Hyundai Truck and a KIA Rhino. The casualties were trapped in the wreckage.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the KIA Rhino, travelling from Upper West to Accra, suffered a front tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the Hyundai truck in front.
The accident involved four casualties, with two fatalities reported.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage, with the Hyundai truck’s front end and the KIA Rhino’s front section and one tyre completely destroyed, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
