Tobinco Group donates GH¢100,000 to Medeama for winning Premier League

The Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Nana Amo Tobbin I, has gifted players of Medeama SC GH¢100,000 and some medical supplies for winning the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League.

He also pledged to partner Medeama SC for the 2023-2024 CAF Champions League by giving the team monthly support.
In addition, the Tobinco boss pledged to provide life insurance packages for all the players, with a further promise to purchase a bus for the team if they win the Champions League.

Nana Amo Tobbin I, who is also the Dwantuahene of the Apinto Traditional Area in the Western Region, made the presentation when the entire playing body, technical handlers and management officials of Medeama visited the head office of the Tobinco Group of Companies, along the Spintex Road in Accra, to present the league trophy and medals they won last week.

Significant triumph
The Tarkwa-based club won their first ever league title in style with a home victory over Tamale City at the Akoon Park. It was the first time in over four decades that a club from the Western Region had won Ghana’s topflight competition since Sekondi Hasaacas won the league in 1977, making Medeama’s success even more significant.

Led by the club’s president, Moses Armah, and the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem and the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, George Mireku Duker; Medeama presented the league trophy and a winner’s medal to the Tobinco Group boss who hails from Tarkwa-Nsuem and has been a lifetime supporter of the team.

Nana Amo Tobbin I commended the club for putting up an incredible performance and bringing honour to the people of Wassa and advised the players and officials to not be complacent after their biggest success.
