Opinion: Inusah Fuseini should spare us the “hypocrisy”; NDC has rather caused constitutional crisis not EC

Inusah Fuseini, the former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, on Joy FM’s Newsfile on Saturday, 28 December 2024, opined that the Electoral Commission has caused constitutional crisis. In his submission, he said that the EC’s decision to gazette the results of 274 constituencies when there was a pending case before the Supreme Court is suggestive of the fact that the Commission has caused a crisis constitutionally.

This position being espoused can only come from a mind that is dishonest. Honesty is an enemy to this former Lands and Natural Resources Minister, hence this position.

It is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that has caused this constitutional crisis, not the Electoral Commission.

If the NDC had not urged its members to invade collation centres with the sole objective of disrupting collating processes, would we be talking about a constitutional crisis?Immediately after polls closed, NDC thugs were called to storm the various collation centres to vandalize and cause chaos in the centres.

These thugs did not only beat up people but also forced EC officials to declare NDC candidate’s winners in elections they didn’t win.
