The Drivers’ Challenge 2024
This educational initiative aims to establish a prestigious competition for all commercial drivers in Ghana, designed to leverage both academic knowledge and driving skills. The competition will be structured to incorporate the district, regional, and national representation, ensuring broad participation and engagement across the country.
Objectives
i. To raise awareness about road safety and promote responsible driving practices among drivers in Ghana.
ii. To establish a platform dedicated to rewarding and celebrating the contributions of commercial drivers and other stakeholders within the transport industry.
iii. To create an avenue for corporate organizations to demonstrate their support for the transport sector.
iv. To bridge the gap between commercial drivers and various stakeholders involved in road safety-related issues.
v. Through these objectives, we strive to foster a culture of safety, appreciation, and collaboration within the transport community while positioning Ghanaian drivers on a global stage.
Target
This Project Is Expected to reach between 1,000,000 Ghanaian and 800,000 G.P.R.T.U Members across Ghana.
Module & Content
Sensitize selected commercial drivers through a reality show. Drivers will be educated by collaborating stakeholders such as the DVLA, MTTD, Ghana Fire Service and among others.
Drivers will be taken through road traffic regulations, first aid training, speed management, tyre safety education, road signages, defensive driving, road safety situation in Ghana etc.
