GPL Matchday 8: Gold Stars pip Hearts of Oak at home to maintain lead

Surprise Ghana Premier League leaders, Bibiani Gold Stars, on Sunday, October 27, defied the odds to pip giants, Accra Hearts of Oak 1-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium to maintain their lead atop the standings.

Kotoko took the lead in the 36th minute with a well-placed strike from Albert Amoah, looking to continue their winning momentum.

However, the home side rallied back and found an equalizer in the 81st minute, securing a crucial point and denying Kotoko the opportunity to ascend to the top of the league table.

Heart of Lions secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nsoatreman at the Kpando Sports Stadium yesterday, bringing an end to a five-match winless run.

Despite a closely contested match, Lions controlled the game with 51% possession compared to Nsoatreman’s 42%.
