FirstBank Ghana donates GH¢50,000 to SOS Ghana.

As part of its commitment to helping children and communities around the nation, FirstBank Ghana has contributed GH¢50,000 to SOS Ghana, a non-profit organization that supports families and children in need.

Eugenia Serwaah Cobbina, SOS Ghana’s Fund Development Manager, who accepted the contribution, thanked the organization for the assistance.

“We are truly appreciative of FirstBank’s support, it will go a long way to help us continue our work to uplift children and families in need,” she stated.

“Encouraging the welfare of children has always been our top priority,” stated Victor Yaw Asante, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Ghana.
It is a privilege for us to collaborate with SOS Ghana and provide assistance to guarantee the long-term viability of their vital programs.”

The execution of SOS Ghana’s programs for children’s villages and community projects has been hampered by budgetary difficulties brought on by a decrease in financing, particularly from outside sources.

SOS Ghana created an Endowment Fund to address this as part of last year’s celebration of its 50th anniversary.

Ms. Cobbina outlined the fund’s goals, saying: “We want to raise $5 million in the first three years, from 2025 to 2027, and $10 million by 2030.”
In order to guarantee our recipients’ ongoing assistance, she said, “this will enable us to invest the funds and only touch the principal or interest in extreme emergencies.”

Therefore, FirstBank Ghana’s assistance is greatly needed as SOS Ghana aims to encourage more Ghanaians and charitable organizations to make contributions to the endowment fund.

“We are encouraging business entities and Ghanaians to contribute to this endowment fund on a one-time or ongoing basis.

In addition to helping us right now, this will safeguard the children’s and families’ futures,” Ms. Cobbina continued.
