Bibiani Gold Stars defends Samuel Atta-Kumi after six-goal haul sparks debate

Bibiani Gold Stars administrative manager Joseph Oti Manu has criticised the backlash surrounding striker Samuel Atta-Kumi after his six-goal haul against Eleven Wonders.

Atta-Kumi scored six times in Gold Stars’ 8-3 victory on the final day of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The remarkable performance took his league tally to 19 goals, moving him ahead of Augustine Okrah of Bechem United in the race for the Golden Boot. The result, however, sparked debate and raised questions about the integrity of the league, with some fans and observers expressing doubts over the nature of the scoreline.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after the game, Oti Manu dismissed the criticism and urged football stakeholders to change their mindset regarding such performances.
