Two suspects have been taken into custody by the Tema Regional Police Command for the assault and robbery of a merchant in Ashaiman, Greater Accra Region.
On February 26, 2025, the day of the robbery, Karim Fatao, one of the suspects, was captured.
On March 29, 2025, Wonder Babanawo, the second suspect, was taken into custody. He had been on the police wanted list for a string of robberies in Ashaiman and sections of Tema.
A Ruger pistol containing 15 rounds of ammunition, 30 cell phone covers, 6 SIM cards, a quantity of dried plant material thought to be Indian hemp, one Samsung tablet, and three copies of the land indenture were found during a search of the suspects, according to a statement signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Stella Dede Dzakpasu, Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer.
According to the statement, Karim Fatao was remanded into police custody after being arraigned in court on March 3, 2025.
Wonder Babanawo, the second suspect, is still being held by the police and will soon appear in court to face charges.
