2025 budget: The former deputy minister of finance says we may gain a lot if

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s 2025 budget has several provisions that, if properly executed, may greatly benefit the nation, according to former Deputy Minister of Finance Dr. Stephen Amoah.

However, he has certain concerns over certain elements of the budget.

These remarks were delivered by Mr. Amoah on Saturday, March 15, when he appeared on Newsfile on JoyNews.

“I disagree with many aspects of the budget, but there are some that could help us if properly implemented,” he stated.

He added, “Let’s wait and see. I am not saying this in anticipation of a negative outcome; I want to see the implementation, the fulfilment, and adherence to the plans.”

The legislator for Nhyiaeso in Kumasi, Ashanti region also argued that “Some of the government’s expenditure patterns, particularly when it comes to government machinery, don’t necessarily reflect a government that is cautious about spending.”

His comments coincide with continuing debates over how the budget would affect the nation’s economy and people.

Numerous stakeholders are analyzing the 2025 budget’s capacity to solve important national issues, such as social welfare, infrastructure development, and economic growth, which has generated a great deal of discussion.
