Ibrahim Tanko, the Head Coach of the Black Meteors, has expressed his confidence in a plan he has developed to defeat Morocco in their second Group A match at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
Following their first victory against Congo last weekend, Ghana’s team is determined to present a challenging assignment for the North African side in today’s clash.
During a pre-match conference, Coach Tanko stated, “Both teams won their first games, and definitely the Moroccans have their strategy for the second game, and so do we. I had a training session with my team on what we are going to do to have a good game.”
Tanko emphasized that his players are ready to compete against the hosts in order to secure an early entry into the semi-finals and solidify their position on the table, thus increasing their chances of winning the title.
Acknowledging the disappointment in their previous game, the former Dortmund player highlighted the importance of focusing on the upcoming match to accomplish their mission in the tournament.
“In 2018, we nearly qualified for Tokyo, but I am sure that this time we are going to qualify,” he added.
Both Ghana and Morocco currently hold three points each, occupying the first and second positions in Group A, respectively.
