An effort to combine transportation services in the travel industry has been started by the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC).
The “Fleet pool Management Services (FPMS)” platform will serve as a platform for drivers to access services and opportunities, regardless of whether they own a car. To date, 12 private companies have registered to participate in the initiative. The FPMS provides cost-effective transportation services for tourists and ensures safe and dependable transportation. Services like airport pickups, cross-country tourism, and city tours using various cars, including salon cars, and buses, will be offered.
Fleet pool management service The initiative was launched yesterday in Accra by Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture. She praised GTDC for its efforts to meet the demanding needs of contemporary tourism transportation and for its belief in public-private partnerships as a means of achieving national development. She called the initiative a visionary platform that represents a significant step in providing the Black Star experience:
“The platform aims to streamline tourist mobility across our rich and diverse destinations while promoting driving standards and ensuring compliance with national regulations in both the tourism and transportation sectors.”
She said, “It supports a public-private partnership framework by leveraging GTDC’s distributive reach and operational credibility, enabling the government and private sector to combine efforts in delivering quality and content transport tourism.”
According to Ms. Gomashie, the FPMS was about more than simply cars; it was also about professionalism, values, dependability, collaboration, and advancement.
“It is about creating a system that embodies the quality of Ghana’s tourism brand and helps to establish Ghana as a destination of choice in West Africa and beyond,” she said.
However, citing the arduous and costly nature of traveling across Africa, the minister urged the nation to collaborate with other nations in order to establish more direct flights to its neighbors.
He said that although the GTDC will concentrate on driver quality and training to guarantee high-quality services, car owners would be in charge of vehicle upkeep.
