Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan has been named the new Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) Customs Division by President John Dramani Mahama.
The Customs Division is anticipated to receive new leadership with the appointment, which was made public on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Brig. Gen. Annan will be entrusted with reorienting the division and assisting the GRA in achieving its goals.
Prior to his recent assignment, Brig. Gen. Annan, a recognized, committed, and morally upright Ghana Army officer, was the Presidential Security Coordinator.
The president expressed trust in Brig. Gen. Annan’s capacity to lead the division toward efficiency as the government attempts to correct the economy, according to a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the president’s spokesperson and minister of government communications.
Brigadier General Ziblim Ayorogo, the departing Commissioner, was also congratulated by the President for his contribution to Ghana and the Customs Division.
In order to support Ghana’s economic recovery efforts, the government is working to improve revenue mobilization and streamline operations at the Customs Division, therefore Brig. Gen. Annan’s appointment comes at a critical moment.
